FILIP HELANDER savoured his Old Firm winner and insisted Rangers showed their togetherness to overcome Covid adversity and Celtic at Ibrox.
The champions landed the first significant blow in the Premiership title race as they extended their unbeaten run on derby day with a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
Helander headed home a Borna Barisic corner to clinch a deserved three points and inflict a second defeat of the league campaign on new Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou.
Rangers were without manager Steven Gerrard and a handful of first team stars due to a Coronavirus outbreak that decimated the Light Blues squad ahead of their Europa League clash with Alashkert last week.
But Gerrard's side - marshalled by assistant Gary McAllister for the second consecutive fixture - would rise to the Old Firm occasion and move three points clear of Celtic in the top flight.
Helander told RangersTV: "Incredible emotions. The noise afterwards, I think it is something that I will never forget. We got an important win and it couldn’t be better.
"I think [we showed our togetherness]. We had a tough week, not the best performance in Armenia and a lot of people are missing for the game.
"I think it was a big victory for us and we showed togetherness as a team with everyone fighting for each other and everyone around the club that has been supporting us now in this week. It is just a perfect end to the week.
"I was going towards the back post and the ball was perfect. I just tried to hit the target and it went in. It was amazing.
"I don’t know… it is very hard [to put the noise into words]. I don’t score a lot of goals so I never really think about scoring goals. Then, when you do, you just lose control for a while."
