A MAN was taken to the hospital after he was attacked on a busy street on Sunday afternoon.
The victim, whose aged is unknown, was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres for treatment following the assault on Main Street in Rutherglen.
One eyewitness told the Glasgow Times that cops had taped off the scene near the Co-op supermarket.

The force did provide any details on the man's condition or injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Officers are carrying out enquiries after a man was assaulted in Main Street, Rutherglen around 5.50pm Sunday, August, 29.
"He was taken to Hairmyers Hospital for treatment."
