A POP-UP event will showcase a handful of the best small independent businesses Glasgow has to offer this weekend.

Pop Up Spot Collective will take place at the newly renovated Box Hub Vennel on Washington Street this Saturday.

The one-day event will include businesses such as Dear Green Place Limited, Olivia Taylor Design, BAE Fit, Danielle Dixon and Hundredth Monkey Bakery.

Founded last year, Pop Up Spot’s focus is to help give local businesses the platform to reach their full potential.

It offers short-term, flexible space to suit all different types of pop-ups, helping businesses looking for seasonal or permanent spaces or to test out a new location.

Euan Robertson, founder of Pop Up Spot, said: "Getting things started in 2020 was, for obvious reasons, challenging and there have been many obstacles to overcome.

"But I have loved working with so many passionate and creative small business owners."

Over the last year, the company has established 12 locations and set up more than 20 pop-ups in Glasgow, working with independent businesses such as Full Circle Bakes, Glasgow Plant Mama and Pots From Scots.

It has given business owners the opportunity to create their own shop and bring back a sense of community and face to face customer interaction after a very difficult year.

The first Pop Up Spot Collective will be held on Saturday, September 4 and will be taking donations for Glasgow charity Refuweegee.
