Joe Aribo was late for Nigeria duty on the international stage due to 'transfer talks', according to his boss.
Gernot Rohr made the claims to the press after his side's training.
It comes a short time after the same head coach claimed the Rangers attacker was being tracked by an unnamed top flight English club.
Aribo has not been tipped to leave Ibrox this summer and is seemingly content at the club. However when he, Racing Genk ace Paul Onuachu and Boavista defender Chidozie Awaziem were all late to link-up with their compatriots, Rohr hinted at a move.
According to the Daily Record he said: "We are ready, we are still missing two players or three (Aribo, Onuachu, Awaziem), they will arrive tonight or tomorrow.
"These players were concerned by transfer problems so they could not be here with us since yesterday."
Deadline day passed without too much fanfare at Rangers with Cedric Itten and Nikola Katic the highest profile exits on loan.
