STAGECOACH is introducing temporary changes to some of its timetables next week with two Glasgow routes included.

From Monday a number of services including the X77 (Ayr to Glasgow) and the X76 (Kilmarnock to Glasgow) will be revised due to "driver shortages."

Valid tickets will be accepted on alternative Stagecoach West Scotland bus services.

Fiona Doherty, Managing Director at Stagecoach West Scotland, said: "Like many transport operators across the UK we have driver shortages.

"We would like to thank all our passengers for their patience as we deal with this and we are sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.

"We never want to cancel our services and that is why we are actively recruiting for new drivers who already hold PCV licences, as well as trainee drivers, at all our depots across the West of Scotland.

"We are working hard to liaise with our customers, including schools and hospitals, to update them in advance of any changes."
