As we enter October there are plenty of spooky offerings available this weekend, but if Halloween isn't your thing then there's still lots to keep the whole family occupied. 

Here's our list of the top five things to do in and around Glasgow this weekend. 

Loch Lomond Scary Faerie Trail

This spooky, but child friendly, Halloween trail can be found in the woodland of Luss by Loch Lomond.

Using the activity guide book, work out the clues as you make your way around the trail to solve the mystery of the Pumpkin Patch Faerie. 

At the end of the trail is the Faerie Pumpkin Patch where you will have the opportunity to purchase your own pumpkin.

Tickets include a trail guide, activity booklet, pencil, certificate, sticker, souvenir wristband, and a hot drink for adults and squash and sweeties for children at the Faerie Cafe.

The event starts today and runs until October 31, with several time slots available each day.

Big Kid Circus

Fun for all the family, the Big Kid Circus will be at Alexandra Park this weekend with its brand new show, Gold. 

New acts include the wheel of death, contortion, aerial straps and the globe of death. 

Showtimes are 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm on Saturday, and 1pm and 3.30pm on Sunday.

Scotland Loves Anime

For the 12th year in a row, Glasgow Film Theatre will feature the best of new Japanese animation with the Scotland Loves Anime festival.

Appealing to fans of both anime and cinema, the event presents eight films over three days, including Fortune Favours Lady Nikuko, Pompo The Cinephile and Looking for Magical Doremi. 

The event runs from today to Sunday with various showtimes each day.

Halloween Double Movie Bill

The Ice Box Arts and Music Centre will host back to back screenings of the classic horror films Halloween and Halloween II this Saturday evening as October gets underway. 

The event promises the sound will be better than viewers have experienced for a while as they will use the main venue PA system, and there may even be a visit from the icebox ghost. 

Doors open at 7pm with a start time of 7.30pm. 

Tickets for the 15+ event cost £6 and corkage is free if you want to bring along a tipple.

The Greatest Hits of Motown - How Sweet It Is

For one night only The Kings Theatre will host this "stunning" live show which brings together excellent music, slick choreography, and an amazing band. 

The show, which is in its 18th year, features music from legendary artists such as Lionel Richie, The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, amongst others. 

The event will take place on Sunday evening and starts at 7.30pm.
