Two Glasgow pubs are offering students the chance to get a free burger - and you only have to bring them a tin of beans.
The Ark and the Hall in Glasgow are running a foodbank drive in which they are trading burgers for tins. On October 11, students can head to the pub, hand in their tin, do their bit to help others, and get a burger with no extra charge.
The scheme is in partnership with the Trussell Trust and Glasgow NE foodbanks, so every tin of beans brought to the pubs will be delivered to those who need it most.
The Ark's General Manager Matthew Tyre said: “Whether you’re a student or not, baked beans find their way onto our plates more than we care to admit. We want to change that for the city’s new and returning students, so for one day only, we’ll be welcoming them through our doors with a tin in hand, ready to trade it for a burger. Not only will it give them a chance to fuel up but also to come try our menu and see what we’re all about. We can’t wait!”
