A MAN has been arrested after an alleged murder bid in the city centre at the weekend.
Emergency services swooped to the scene just outside Bar Burrito on Hope Street at 11.45pm on Friday evening.
A 60-year-old man was escorted by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Medical staff describe his current condition as critical.
Detectives have confirmed a 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the inicdent.
He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Detectives would like to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation so far.
"The 50-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, October 12."
