RESIDENTS in Pollokshields have had their sleep disrupted for the last four nights as fireworks have been going off.
Police have received reports of the explosive devices being set off as early as 3am in the morning.
Officers have been made aware of incidents from Monday at 11.40pm, Tuesday at around 3am, Wednesday at about 1.20am and Thursday at around 12.35am.
Police say they’ve been working hard over the last three years, along with their partners, to combat the behaviour, and educate young people.
However, it is believed to be adults lighting the fireworks as vehicles are being used.
Inspector Cennydd Smith, from Gorbals Police Office, said: “This behaviour is totally unacceptable, and it is disappointing to see a very small minority of people causing such disruption to the community.
“We ask anyone with CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcams, to check their footage for the last few nights, and get in touch if they have anything that will assist with our enquiries to identify those responsible.
“Anyone with any information can contact us via 101, quoting incident number 0090 of October14. Alternatively, reports can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers online, or by calling 0800 555 111.”
