A teenage boy has died after an incident at a Glasgow train station.
Officers responded to High Street at around 3.45pm today following a report that a teenager had been seriously injured.
Police confirmed a 14-year-old boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detective Inspector Iain Nelson of Greater Glasgow Division said: "This has been a shocking loss of a young life and a significant investigation is under way.
"Specialist officers are supporting the boy’s family at this incredibly difficult time. Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can help is urged to get in touch as soon as possible."
Police are urging those who were in the area at the time, or have information which may be relevant, to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2280 of Saturday, October 16.
Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
