A new Home Bargains costing £4million is to open in the East End this weekend, creating 59 new jobs.
The new store on Dalmarnock Road will officially open on Saturday at 8am.
Store manager Mary Ann Macdonald, said: "I've worked in the retail sector for over 30 years, but there's nothing quite like the buzz of opening a new store.
"There's a lot of hard work and dedication that's gone into the new store and I can't wait to open its doors this weekend alongside such a fantastic team.
"It's something I'm exceptionally proud of."
She added: "Dalmarnock Road will be a great location for us and we're proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices."
The store will also be donating £2000 to local charity Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust, a community-owned organisation that offers support to local residents and helps them make positive changes in their lives and in the community.
Brendan Rooney, executive director at Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust, said: "On behalf of everyone at Healthy n Happy thank you so much to Home Bargains for your support and kind donation.
"It really helps and will and will help us to support local residents and communities in very difficult times."
