IT will soon be time to saddle-up in Glasgow when major cycling action returns to the city for the first time in three years.
The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome was today confirmed as the host of the Tissot UCI Track Nations Cup in April 2022.
Bringing together the very best international riders and British stars, the event will take place between 21 – 24 of the month. Glasgow last hosted a cycling competition in December 2019.
Councillor David McDonald, Chair of Glasgow Life and Depute Leader of Glasgow City Council, said: “The city is delighted to host the first stage of the 2022 Tissot UCI Track Nations Cup, and to welcome back the first major event to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome since 2019.
“Glasgow has thousands of dedicated cycling enthusiasts and fans, and we’re sure they’ll be thrilled at the prospect of once again seeing elite athletes competing in their home city – particularly in the months leading up to the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and the year before the city welcomes the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.”
