Kate Garraway has finally identified the mystery royal who supported her throughout the past year during her husband’s Covid battle.
Derek Draper, 53, fell ill in March 2020 after contracting coronavirus and has required a long recovery in intensive care, during which he was placed in a coma.
After more than a year in hospital, he was considered well enough to return to his North London home in April.
Kate regularly kept ITV viewers updated and revealed on Good Morning Britain that a member of the royal family had sent her a letter offering the help of a royal physician.
Despite being asked for their name, Kate kept it a mystery until now.

Ms Garraway seemingly confirmed the royal was in fact Prince Charles when she thanked him at the Prince’s Trust awards.
She said: “And you might not remember but you were very kind to me because my husband got very sick with Covid after the last Prince’s Trust awards.
“You wrote to me and gave me help, so thank you very much… and he did improve.”
