Emergency repairs are being carried out in Glasgow City Centre after a sinkhole appeared earlier this week.
On Monday morning, the police had closed North Frederick Street for safety reasons after a hole opened up at its junction with George Square.
Although initially reported as a burst water main, investigations by Scottish Water established that the damage on the roadway had been caused by a collapsed sewer.
Road traffic management remains in place and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
Scottish Water estimated the road will re-open by October 27.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “A repair has now been completed and 24/7 working is in place to ensure the reinstatement works can be completed as quickly as possible.
“Road traffic management remains in place and road users are urged to follow diversions.
“All road traffic management will be removed at the earliest possible opportunity.
“It is anticipated that the road will re-open by Wednesday 27 October, earlier than expected and in time for the COP26 embargo beginning.
“Local businesses and road users are thanked for their patience and understanding.”
