FURIOUS Glaswegians have called for the temporary Subway timetable on Sundays during COP26 to be made permanent.
SPT bosses announced yesterday that the network would be increasing its opening hours on Sundays to assist those travelling during the climate summit.
The move is expected to take place on Sunday, October 30 and Sunday, November 7 and will see stations open from 8am to 10pm.

Outraged locals have demanded that the network provider rolls out the temporary Sunday service on a full-time basis with reference to the safety of locals.
A petition reads: "The people of Glasgow have been demanding this for years, why does this extension have to end after two weeks?
"Not only will this be a huge benefit for the city, increasing the modernisation of the subway, but it will also help to ensure the safety of people in Glasgow, especially women. The transport links are poor enough, with no night buses, no train links to areas such as the West End."
So far, almost 250 people have signed the cause, which demands locals to be prioritised over COP26 "VIPs".

It adds: "The SPT clearly have the resource to extend the subway hours on a Sunday. It is about time they modernised and maintained these hours after the COP26 VIPs leave.
"The people of Glasgow are just as important as these delegates and should be prioritised for public safety."
An SPT spokesperson said: “SPT and Subway has always supported major events in the city by extending Sunday opening hours when we can.
"We’ve done this during the Commonwealth Games and the 2018 European Championships. We also extend our Sunday opening hours in December to accommodate Christmas shoppers which we also be doing again this year.
“We do recognise people’s frustration with the early Sunday closures and this is something we will look at once the current Subway modernisation programme is complete.
"But at the moment the early Sunday closures are essential for the extra time it allows both our own track and tunnel maintenance staff and contractors to carry out more intensive and extensive pieces of work in the system.”
