GLASGOW Loves Christmas has responded after it was revealed the George Square Christmas market had been cancelled.
The team, which runs the events on behalf of Glasgow City Council, confirmed the event would no longer be able to go ahead despite its best efforts.
A spokesperson for Glasgow Loves Christmas said: “The Glasgow Loves Christmas team explored every option with the Glasgow Christmas Market operator to make George Square markets possible this Christmas.

"Unfortunately we haven’t been able to create a mutually agreeable plan for this venue.
"We are looking forward to the return of the markets in St Enoch Square which will run from around November 21/22 until December 23.”
As exclusively revealed by the Glasgow Times today, the plug was pulled on the popular event amid accessibility concerns surrounding COP26.
Organisers Market Place Europe confirmed confusion around how many people would remain in the city following the UN summit, which begins on Sunday, meant an access date could not be agreed.
