Scottish drink brand Courageous Spirits are preparing to launch their first ever whisky this month which they describe as 'Glasgow through and through'.

Named after a forgotten island in the Clyde and the old imperial measurement for an inch, the King's Inch whisky is distilled in Glasgow with water from Loch Katrine.

Glasgow Times:

Made in small batches and aged in Bourbon and sherry casks, the King's Inch is one of the final legacy projects of world-renowned whisky expert Dr Jim Swan.

Having achieved huge success with their past products, like the Glaswegin, Courageous Spirits hope that their modern whisky will shake up the industry with its unique tasting notes.

Glasgow Times:

The 46% proof spirit is described as 'a lowland single malt with fruity, spiced characteristics and elegant notes of vanilla, biscuit and hints of chocolate powder.'

Mark Nicholson, Business Development Manager of Courageous Spirits  said:“It’s a really special moment for us and a tribute to Jim Swan’s original recipe.

"This whisky marks our first entry into the category and we can’t wait for Scotland to try it.

"The measure of an inch was once three fat barleycorns laid end to end a King’s Inch they called it.

"The measure of a good host, in our opinion, is one who knows how to pour a decent dram and it just happens that King’s Inch is perfect for most.”
