A west end eaterie that launched a partnership with Glasgow’s first Michelin started restaurant has gained a celebrity super-fan.

Welsh actor, producer and political activist Michael Sheen has been enjoying regular visits to Epicures on Hyndland Road while staying in Glasgow. 

The 52-year-old is currently filming scenes for the second series of the Amazon fantasy comedy Good Omens, which also stars Scots actor David Tennant.

In August last year it was announced that Epicures was partnering with the chef team at Cail Bruich, which was awarded a coveted Michelin star in January - the city’s first in almost two decades. 

And it seems the shared culinary expertise at Epicures made a big impression on the Twilight and Frost Nixon star, who is said to have dined in the restaurant four times in one week. 

Oli Norman, owner of Epicures said he was delighted to host the actor, saying: “It’s lovely that he’s chosen Epicures to hang out while he’s in Glasgow.”

Good Omens was written and created and written by Neil Gaiman, based on his and Terry Pratchett's 1990 novel of the same name.
