A BODY has been recovered from the River Clyde in the search for a missing Glasgow man.
The discovery was made yesterday morning after officers were called to Clydebrae Street following a report of a person in the water.
Police confirmed the man has been identified as George Macaulay, who had been reported missing on Monday, October 25.
The 43-year-old was last seen around the Paisley Road, Seaward Street, and Mavisbank Gardens areas in Kinning Park at around 7pm on Friday, October 22.
His family have been informed.
The force confirmed the death is being treated as "unexplained" pending further investigations.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland statement reads: "Police were called to Clydebrae Street in Glasgow around 8.45am on Friday, November 12, following a report of a person in the water.
"The body of a man was recovered and the death is being treated as unexplained pending further enquiries.
"The man has been identified as George Macaulay, 43, who had been reported missing on Monday, October 25. His family are aware.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
