FOLLOWING the announcement of the death of Bertie Auld at age 83, we have scoured our archives for some of his greatest moments that some of our photographers have had the pleasure of capturing.
In 2019, Bertie visited the Billy McNeill statue at Celtic Park after the death of the former Lisbon Lion, as captured here by Glasgow Times photographer, Colin Mearns.
And here he is pictured with fellow Lisbon Lions in 2017 after a 50th anniversary civic reception was held in the City Chambers in honour of the team.
Of course, Bertie was best remembered as one of the starting line-up of the legendary Celtic team which took the club to victory against Inter Milan in 1967, winning the European Cup.
The team proudly paraded the glittering trophy through the streets of Glasgow after their return, to thousands of delighted fans.
