FOOTBALL stars including Alex Ferguson and Ally McCoist have arrived at Glasgow Cathedral ahead of Walter Smith's memorial service today.
The service is set to begin for 1pm and is open to invited guests only.
The Rangers legend passed away last month after an illness. His death saw a huge outpouring of grief among Rangers supporters with fans rushing to Ibrox stadium to pay tribute.
Ibrox legend, Ally McCoist, above, enjoyed a close relationship to Walter Smith calling him a "second father" in an emotional tribute to the gaffer just moments after receiving news of his passing.
Other Rangers figures will attend today including former defender Richard Gough who captained the team during their iconic nine in a row run.
Gough was seen with Alex Ferguson, former Manchester United boss who was "devastated" by Smith's death. The two developed a close relationship over the year of playing and working together.
In a testament to the respect Walter Smith had across the footballing world, key figures from Old Firm rivals, Celtic, will also attend today's memorial.
Lord Provost of Glasgow Philip Braat was also in attendance today.
He was laid to rest earlier this month in a private family service.
Today's service will be streamed later on Rangers TV.
