A MAN caught with indecent images of children as young as one told police he wasn’t a paedophile.
John McKay was snared with 707 still and moving pictures on his iPhone at his parent’s house on May 29, 2020 in Glasgow’s Castlemilk.
The 18-year-old had stored the sick haul of kids aged between one and 15 over the course of two years.
McKay pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to possession of indecent images of children.
The court heard officers raided McKay’s parents' house after a warrant was granted.
Prosecutor Carrie Stevens said: “From a search, an iPhone found on McKay was seized.
“A preliminary examination of it included child exploitation images.”
McKay was arrested and held in custody for questioning.
Ms Stevens added: “He told officers he suffered from learning difficulties and said he wasn’t a paedophile at the time of his arrest.”

A full examination revealed the full number of images - 163 of which were at the highest category.
Ms Stevens said: “707 of the images were exploitation of children aged between one and 15 years of age.
“They were able to be accessed from the device.”
Sentence was deferred until January for background reports pending background reports by Sheriff Matthew Jackson QC.
McKay was put on the sex offenders register and granted bail meantime.
