A Family festive fun day is coming to Johnstone today and is swapping Christmas lights for 'Christmassy characters.'
Starting at 12pm, the characters will hand out tokens to help encourage residents and visitors to support local businesses, allowing the token holder discounts at selected stalls.
Featuring cheeky elves, giant nutcrackers, the team from Johnstone Sound radio station, and carnival rides too, there will be something for all of the family at Houstoun Square.
The event is organised by Renfrewshire Council and is taking place instead of the usual Christmas lights switch-on.
A spokesperson for Renfrewshire Council’s said: “We are thrilled to be bringing festive fun to Johnstone and Renfrew over the next four Saturdays. There will be loads going on to keep the family entertained and the Christmas characters will make a stunning spectacle."
“We are also delighted to be working with local businesses as part of the event – and our thanks go to all who have signed up to take part.”
