PLANS to redevelop a small area of Nitshill have been approved by the council.
A total of 34 car parking spaces will be built in front of shops, located at the corner of Nitshill Road and Cleeves Road.
Currently, some of the units are empty. Shops in use include an Indian takeaway, a Chinese takeaway, a tattoo shop and a Greggs outlet store.
The car parking spaces will be built where an unused playpark currently sits, as well as a vacant piece of land.
Strathcarron Estates Ltd intends to re-develop the site to provide on-site parking to service the existing retail units.
The proposals intend to enhance the commercial viability of the retail units and in turn, strengthen the presence of the area by creating an inviting environment that will attract customers.
With the exception of some turnout parking along Cleeves Road, there is no designated parking provision at the site just now.
Glasgow City Council approved the plans, with some conditions.
