A POPULAR Christmas event has announced it will add extra dates as 50,000 revellers have snapped up tickets so far.
The Ice Experience at Elfingrove, situated in the grounds Kelvingrove Museum will now close on Tuesday, January 4. The event was originally set to wrap up on Christmas Eve but organisers itison will release tickets for 10 extra dates on Thursday.
The Ice Experience is Scotland's largest ice rink and opened over the weekend to five-star reviews.

Families can also enjoy the Winter Wonderland surroundings with spectacular light shows, a silent snow disco, a "skate-up" mallow cafe for hot drinks and of course, the Candy Bar for the adults where they can enjoy food and cocktails.
Tickets are for one-hour time slots between 12pm and 9pm and are priced at £14 for adults during the day; £16 for adult evening tickets and £12 for children over five. Children under five cannot go on the ice.

Oli Norman, Elfingrove Creator and CEO of itison, said: “We’ve been blown away with the response to The Ice Experience. From Rockefeller Centre in New York to Ice World in Vienna, I’ve skated some of the world’s most iconic rinks so create our own at Kelvingrove Museum to rival those great cities and see so many of you enjoying magical memories on the ice is a real honour.
“50,000 tickets have already been snapped up and this is our final ticket release, so I’d get your skates on and get in quick!”
There are some tickets still available for pre-Christmas dates and organisers have warned those keen to snap them up for over the holidays to "set an alarm".
Tickets go on sale this Thursday, December 9 at 7.30am at itison.com/elfingrove.
