A city centre bar is preparing to host its annual fundraising event in memory of glam rock icon David Bowie.
The Admiral Bar on Waterloo Street says party-goers should 'expect the unexpected' for this year's celebration which will take place on January 8, 2022 with all proceeds going to the Beatson Charity.

The Admiral Bar owner and veteran DJ, Dave Ross said: “This year, to honour the 75th Anniversary since the Birth of David Robert Jones, we will be hosting a celebratory night of the music of David Bowie.
“Start 2022 with kindness in your heart and knowing that you are honouring Mr David Bowie by celebrating his music and donating to a brilliant charity.
“Over the last few years we have lost a few regular customers and close friends to Cancer, so this event is a matter that is very close to our hearts!”
The party kicks off at 5 pm with an impressive line up of DJ’s including Bob Winning (Simply Thrilled / Strangeways), Hugh Haggerty (Scene Alba / Simply Thrilled) Gerry Lyons (Mr. Glasgow) and Dave Ross himself.
You can also look forwards to Ziggy Stardust face painting, Karaoke, Bowie Bingo and visual projections from artist Ash London.
DJ’s work for free on the night to raise as much money as possible for charity in honour of the Let's Dance singer who passed away from liver cancer just two days before his 69th birthday in 2016.

Martin Cawley, CEO of Beatson Cancer Charity said: “What a brilliant way to raise funds. We really appreciate all the hard work of the team at The Admiral Bar, Dave Ross, Robert Winning, and all the DJ’s that put in a shift to make the Bowie night a big success!”
Tickets for the event will be sold in two tiers with standard admission set at £5 or £25 for admission and a limited edition T-Shirt with the bar’s exclusive BOWIE 75 logo.
Why not be heroes, just for one day?
