The team behind Grain and Grind, who own a number of the Southside's favourite brunch spots, have confirmed a new West End location.

Signage appeared in an empty unit on the corner of Old Dumbarton road and Lumsden street this week causing a stir amongst West End coffee lovers who are buzzing to get their local fix of artisan roasts.

There's little information being given away at this point, other than the fact that they will be opening in 'Early 2022'.

Co-owner and founder of Grain and Grind Matthew Mustard said: "We’re delighted to be opening our first shop in the West End and we look forward to serving locals great coffee, cakes and food in the new year."

Matthew and his business partner John Gartly opened their first shop in Battlefield just three years ago, but now have three locations in Glasgow as well as one in Inverness.

Each shop has its own distinct character from a cosy hole in the wall space in Strathbungo to a bustling artisan bakery on Victoria road.

Matthew previously told the Glasgow Times: “Although we have multiple locations now we still try really hard to keep that small business ethos that we started with.

“We always aim to make everything ourselves or if we do have to source anything from elsewhere then we’ll make sure that it comes from within the local area.

“Doing that allows us to pursue our own ideas and adapt our menus and products to suit each shop."

We can't wait to see what they have planned for their first West End venture.
