A GLASGOW charity is determined to ensure families in Drumchapel, and beyond, are set to have a special Christmas.
3D Drumchapel offer programmes and sessions for those living in the area, as well as Knightswood and Yoker.
The team, who are running their own toy appeal, have also partnered with the Glasgow Times as part of our Bank on Us appeal to help save Christmas for struggling families.
Nadia Brown, operations manager, said: “I was in the church yesterday and a lady came in and she had new toys, winter socks and things like that. It’s things that will make children’s Christmas better.
“The families we support mainly are living in poverty so we try and support them as much as we can with things like food vouchers too.
“We know they spend a lot of money on nursery and might be left with no money for food.
“The families are pretty short at this time of year so anything that we get in terms of donations are greatly welcomed.”
3D Drumchapel have been and will be receiving donations from lots of different organisations this year.
Nadia added: “We applied for Cash4Kids appeal and that will be Aldi vouchers the families get to help with food poverty.
“We get donations from many different places so we’ll come in as a team and make sure everything goes out to all the families.
“We’d just like to say thank you very much for considering us.
“The families appreciate anything that’s donated and on behalf of the families, thank you for your generosity. It does make a huge difference to the lives of the families and children we support.”
The 3D Drumchapel team have been getting into the Christmas spirit recently. Last week, Santa made an appearance at the charity’s base for their Christmas party, and the after school club was also Christmas themed.
A wide range of sessions are held throughout the year including baby massage, outdoor play, mum’s night, baby beats, pregnancy relaxation and many more.
To hand in donations, please visit St Andrew’s Church, Old Drumchapel, 153 Garscadden Road, G15 6UQ, from Monday to Friday, between 9am-4pm.
The charity asks anyone to call first on 0141 944 5740 to ensure there is someone to take the delivery.
