CHANNEL 5 viewers tuning into the “Christmas In London” movie broadcast were in for a surprise – as Glasgow popped up in the lead role.
The TV movie, called “A Christmas Exchange”, was billed on the UK schedule as “Christmas In London”.
Its synopsis reads: “This holiday season, Molly Cooper (Laura Vandervoort) swaps her snow-covered farmhouse for Patrick Kensington’s (Rainbow Sun Francks) posh London apartment.
“Sparks fly between them as they get to know each other and fall in love as they live in each other’s spaces.”

However, Glasgow frequently pops up as London throughout the film.
Twitter user @dubdubble was one of the first to spot it, tweeting: "Watching a film called Christmas in London and the first image of 'London' at Christmas is actually George Square in Glasgow! 👀"

In one early section as Molly sits in a phone booth, a voiceover plays with Patrick saying: “Your enthusiasm about London makes me feel like a bit of a fraud, having lived in the city my whole life and not fully appreciated it.
“It’s funny how a stranger can make you take a second look. Makes me wish I was there seeing it with you for the first time.”
This played as readers could clearly see Glasgow’s George Square behind Molly, including the iconic pink of the “People Make Glasgow” branding on the former City of Glasgow college building.

In another shot of “London”, Glasgow’s classic Christmas decorations in George Square can be seen – along with a bus heading to “Glasgow Airport”.
Glasgow has been a versatile city in recent years – starring as London in Hobbes And Shaw, New York in Indiana Jones and Gotham City for The Batman and The Flash, with Batgirl filming also taking place last week.
