A MAN has been arrested after being chased by police cars and helicopters near Glasgow.
In the early hours of this morning the 30-year-old was seen in a car in the Caldercruix area of North Lanarkshire.
Officers were pursuing him with the assitance of helicopters.
It is understood he was stopped just before 1am on Motherwell Road in Bellshill and arrested for road traffic offences.

Police Scotland Air Unit posted an arial photo on Twitter and wrote: "Police helicopter assisted @Lanarkshire_Pol @polscotrpu early hours of this morning at Caldercruix during a vehicle pursuit.
"The car was eventually stopped and the driver arrested for a variety of offences."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences after a vehicle was stopped on Motherwell Road, Bellshill at 12.50am on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
"A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
