Local legend Freddie the cat has been named as the 'Personality of the Year' for 2021 in a Southside awards ceremony.
The MyShalwlands awards were held virtually last night Thursday, December 30 in an effort to celebrate those who make the neighbourhood great.
The comprehensive list of categories ranged all the way from the best bathroom to best staff member, but it was our favourite famous feline who scooped one of the night's most coveted titles.

Rescue cat Freddie is known for frequenting the areas around his home on Skirving Street and can often be spotted sitting comfortably on top of parked cars.
His celebrity status has reached such a level that locals will often choose a longer route on their walks just to pay their respects to the 'Mayor of Shawlands'.
The ultra-cool kitty's owner Barbara has featured in a video accepting the award on his behalf saying: "We're absolutely ecstatic that he has won the award for Shawlands personality of the year.
"He's an amazing cat and has brought so much joy over the 12 years that he has been on Skirving Street.
"It's been such a hard time with coronavirus and that bit of joy that he brings and the smile he puts on people's faces is invaluable.
"We're over the moon on behalf of Freddie."

"He really is a local legend and community talking point.
"Well deserved."
Another said simply: "How could it be anyone else?"
There have even been suggestions that a mural should be painted in honour of the beloved moggy.
Congratulations Freddie, here's to many more years as mayor!
