A FIRE at a Covid test centre near Glasgow is being treated as "deliberate" by police.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Risk Street in Dumbarton after the alarm was raised at around 12.40am on New Year's Day.
Officers confirmed no one was injured during the incident and that the fire was extinguished.
Investigations carried out by police have established that the fire was a "deliberate act".
Cops said at around 12.20am, an item was thrown at a canopy causing it to catch fire.
Services provided at the test centre have not been impacted by the blaze.
Detective Constable Thomas O’Donnell said: "We are in the process of reviewing CCTV footage from the area and the surrounding area and I’m confident it will provide useful information on the suspect and the incident.
"However, I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact us."
