UPDATE: Poundland bosses respond to Glasgow store closure
Signs have appeared at the Dumbarton Road shop in Partick announcing its final day of business.
It reads: "Poundland Partick, last day of trade Saturday, January 15, 2021."
The bargain giant has since revealed that the firm's lease of the shop has expired.
Poundland bosses revealed they were as "disappointed" with employees over its closure.
A spokesperson said: “We’re as disappointed as our colleagues and customers to be closing our store in Dumbarton Road, Partick, on January 15. Sadly, our lease has expired.
“We’re still offering customers amazing value at our other Glasgow stores.
"Where we close a store, it goes without saying we always work hard to look after colleagues directly affected.”
