CELEBRITIES, politicians, and members of the public are among those sending their best wishes to Scots comic Janey Godley as she heads to hospital for a life-saving operation.
Godley announced in November that she would have to cut her stand-up tour short after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
The comedian and author has already had the operation to tackle the cancer delayed once after she tested positive for Covid-19 in December.
She is now due for a hysterectomy on Thursday, January 6 in order to have the tumour removed.
Godley previously said she had been practicing getting out of bed every day as she prepares to go under the knife as “apparently that’s a tough move when your giblets have been whipped out and your stomach is full of stitches”.
Posting on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, Godley wrote: “Today is all about getting packed up for hospital - surgery on Thursday morning, then focussing on recovery and whatever comes next.”
Fellow comedian Julian Clary was among the stars wishing Godley well, telling her to “take love and good wishes from me with you”.
Scottish Minister for Women's Health Maree Todd said she was "sending much love and strength".
Former footballer Gary Lineker and broadcaster and poet Lemn Sissay were also among the famous faces wishing Godley the best.
Sending love to you Janey. So many people are thinking of you and wishing you well. I hope you can feel all the love and it brings you strength. Right ‘Bunty’ yer time’s up ya bass! Get yersel huntit! X

“Bunty” is what Godley has named her tumour.
Responding to the thousands of well-wishers, Godley later posted: “I want to thank everyone for so much love - I will go into that operation on Thursday with a heart full of support, knowing that you and my family are all cheering for me - I am not so scared just … well you know slightly shoogly thinking about it, but thanks.”
The Scots comic has previously urged others who may have been suffering symptoms to get them checked out.
She said these included feeling "as though I was full before I was eating a meal, I felt as though I had no real energy, and there was a big bloatingness inside my stomach".
