POUNDLAND bosses have responded to the announcement of a store closure in Glasgow.
They have revealed that they are just as disappointed as their workers that the Partick branch will cease trade in the coming days.
Signs on the Dumbarton Road retail unit show that the shop will officially close on Saturday, January 15.
It has emerged that the bargain firm's lease of the shop has expired.
A spokesperson for Poundland said: “We’re as disappointed as our colleagues and customers to be closing our store in Dumbarton Road, Partick, on January 15. Sadly, our lease has expired.
“We’re still offering customers amazing value at our other Glasgow stores.
"Where we close a store, it goes without saying we always work hard to look after colleagues directly affected.”
