GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST is eager to add to his Rangers squad as he eyes further reinforcements to bolster the champions' Premiership title defence.
The Ibrox boss completed his first signing of the January window last week as midfielder James Sands clinched an 18-month loan deal from Major League Soccer outfit New York City.
Van Bronckhorst remains in the market for a replacement for Nathan Patterson following his move to Everton, while Rangers are keen to strike pre-contract deals with John Souttar and Danilho Doekhi this month.
Van Bronckhorst said: "My focus is on Rangers. Of course you read reports about the other teams in the league and their business. That’s normal but the focus is on my team.
"I’m quite happy with the squad we have now and I also have confidence in the squad. Where there are possibilities to add some players, we will definitely.
"Of course Nathan going to Everton was a very good move for him. He was very happy with the move. To get the chance to play in the Premier League at his age is quite fantastic really.
"So we were more than happy that we could let him go to Everton. He is going to make the next step in his career and of course for the club financially it was a good deal. So I think it was very positive for both."
The capture of Sands will give Van Bronckhorst another option in the middle of the park ahead of Rangers' return to league business against Aberdeen next week.
And the Dutchman is pleased to have the 21-year-old on board after Rangers fended off competition from the continent to land Sands with an option to buy clause.
Van Bronckhorst told RangersTV: "I think James can give a lot to the squad. He is a young talent.
"It’s very good to have him here because he is very versatile, he can play in defence, he can play in midfield. We are just going to use him for the coming 18 months.
"I think he will be a great addition to the squad. We are all happy to develop him even further and to make him a better player."
