A TEACHER accused of making sexual remarks and behaving inappropriately with two young boys will have his fate decided next week.

The unnamed staff member will go before the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) on January 25 for a hearing into his fitness to teach after a slew of allegations were made against him dating as far back as the 1990s.

The man, who was a teacher at a school in East Kilbride, is accused of incidents dating between 1994 and 2014.

Between August 1994 and February 1997, is accused of exposing his private parts and asking a boy, dubbed Pupil A, who was aged between 11 and 14 at the time, to touch him.

He is also alleged to have had the boy over to his house where he performed a massage on the youngster and touched his private parts.

Over the two-and-a-half-year period, he is also accused of making a string of lewd comments to the pupil, buying him gifts of clothing, DVDs and alcohol as well as paying for a gym membership and taking the child there.

He is also alleged to have asked Pupil A to remove his clothes and presented him with a box of condoms.

Similar incidents are then alleged to have occurred between August 2013 and June 2014 with a second boy, known as Pupil B, who was aged between 12 and 13 at the time.

The teacher was, again, accused of gifting the youngster with clothing and alcohol as well as paying for him to have a haircut.

It’s alleged he told the young boy he loved him and allowed him to sleep overnight at his home.

There it’s alleged he gave the boy a massage and touched his private parts.

He is also said to have removed the boy’s clothes and requested that the pupil touch his private parts.

The teacher is also accused of asking the pupil inappropriate questions including whether he had had sex or watched pornography.

The teacher will appear before the GTCS next week for the virtual hearing which is expected to last two days.

The meeting will investigate the claims which have been made before determining the man’s fitness to continue teaching.
