A THUG sent a text saying “slashes for grasses” to a boy’s parents after threatening to hurt their son.
Megan Spence, 23, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to shouting and uttering threats of violence over the phone.
The Drumchapel woman committed the offence on July 20, 2020, whilst she was already on bail.
Procurator fiscal depute Victoria Keel said: “The witnesses were within their home. At this time, the woman received a telephone call. Her partner answered the phone, and a female voice began shouting ‘this is Megan, just to let you know your boys getting done’.
“Both witnesses recognised the voice as the accused. They hung up the phone. Shortly after, a text message was received which stated ‘I’m telling you now for mentioning me to coppers he’s getting done. Slashes for grasses. He had to go for Jamie, not me. Mad grass’.
“Over the course of the evening, the woman received numerous phone calls however they ignored them until it stopped. They attended at Clydebank police office to report the incident. An investigation was carried out.”
Spence’s lawyer told the court that his client is already subject to a number of court orders.
He said: “This was totally unacceptable behaviour. There is a history amongst it. She was angry, however, accepts that she made the calls. She had no intention of carrying out any harm but she had no right to behave in that manner.
“She’s had quite a difficult time in recent history. She’s received numerous threats of violence from other people.”
Sheriff Vincent Lunny said: “I’ll defer for three months on the understanding that this will not be the end of it. However, if there’s a good report, I’ll be minded to continue again.”
Spence will return to court in April.
