The haggis is prepped, the neeps are mashed and we've (almost) got our poems ready to recite.

The only other thing we need to make sure that we're doing Burns Night right? Whisky.

There's no better way to celebrate the life of the Scottish Poet than by gathering some friends to toast a glass, so read on for a list of some of our favourite places to enjoy a wee dram, or two, in Glasgow.

The Pot Still - Hope Street

This city centre bar might look small from the outside, but it houses over 800 different whiskies.

Staff are incredibly clued up on each different bottle and will gladly help you find the perfect serve for your taste.

The Ben Nevis - Argyle Street

A lively West End bar that specialises in craft beers, hearty ales and, most importantly, plenty of whiskies.

The Ben Nevis is well known for hosting live Traditional music sessions too if you're looking to make a night of it

Òran Mór - Byres Road

Thanks to its stunning location in the former Kelvinside Parish Church, even a casual dram in the Òran Mór feels like a special occasion.

They even have a dedicated whisky bar to explore.

Need we say more?

The Ubiquitous Chip - Ashton Lane

If you think the best way to enjoy a whisky is beside an open fire then make your way to The Ubiquitous Chip, a real West End institution.

It's a friendly pub with a great atmosphere making it the perfect to raise a toast to our National Bard.

Bon Accord - North Street

Bon Accord is a welcoming family-run bar near Charing Cross.

They say: "With more than 500 malt whiskies on our gantry, you will be spoiled for choice.

"We are the place to go for Malt Whisky lovers in Glasgow."

It's hard to argue with that!

Scottish Malt Whisky Society - Bath Street

For real whisky buffs, we recommend the Scottish Malt Whisky Society on Bath Street.

They say: "As unconventional whisky experts we seek out whisky in its purest form, prize flavour above everything else. We’re united and constant in our passion – to share the world’s best whiskies."

If you don't make it there for a visit on Burns Night, keep an eye on their social media for regular tasting events and special menu pairings.
