GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST insists Rangers will exit the January transfer window in a stronger position than they entered it at the start of the month.
But the Ibrox boss has refused to be drawn on links with Manchester City starlet James McAtee as the champions prepare for the final days of wheeling and dealing.
Van Bronckhorst completed a deal for Amad Diallo this week as the Manchester United forward followed James Sands in making a loan move to Ibrox for the remainder of the season.
Rangers have also clinched the pre-contract signing of John Souttar and the Hearts defender could yet join the Light Blues before the close of business on Monday.
The sale of Nathan Patterson is the only big-name exit so far at Ibrox but Van Bronckhorst knows anything can happen before the deadline is reached.
Van Bronckhorst said: "It is the last days. We can still do some business. I don’t know.
"I don’t know who is going. Anything can happen, especially in the last days of the transfer window.
"Sometimes it gets a little bit crazy but I hope for us in this window it stays a little bit calm.
"You never know. We will see in a couple of days how our squad will be for the remainder of the season. I am confident we will leave this window better than we started it."
Rangers have made an approach to City with a view to taking McAtee - who has scored 14 goals in 15 appearances in Premier League 2 this term - on loan for the second half of their Premiership title defence.
The 19-year-old made his debut for Pep Guardiola's side in September but Van Bronckhorst refused to be drawn on his interest.
Van Bronckhorst said: "We spoke with many players and have many possibilities we want to add. So far I don’t have any news.
"The only news is that Amad is joining us. We are still open and have to be ready for the remainder of the next days.
"I won’t confirm or talk about names other than players who are here and players we have signed."
