A WOMAN was left in shock after keys were nicked from her house before thieves made off with her BMW.
Erin O'Byrne was alerted of her car going missing yesterday morning. She said her mum noticed it wasn't in front of their house on the driveway where she parked it the previous night.
The 21-year-old was stunned to hear the news that the vehicle was gone from her home on Gordon Avenue in Garrowhill.
She said: "I panicked and phoned the police. I also checked the place we usually keep the keys, inside the house, and the keys were gone too.
"This was when alarm bells started ringing and then we noticed that my stepdad's car's door was lying slightly open on the passenger side, which is beside the pavement."
The car was found 45 minutes after the family realised it was stolen, on Gartocher Road with the front severely damaged and a wheel had fallen off.

The police have told the family that it was involved in a crash with a lamppost.
The university student, who also works in social care, uses the car to get to her lectures and commitments.
She said: "I was really shocked to be honest, it's just one of those things you don't ever think it's going to happen to you, even though you hear about it going on with other people.
"I am frightened to think that someone could have potentially been in the house and I am absolutely gutted about the car.
"I also drive my gran to appointments, so this is a major inconvenience because insurance will take a while, it doesn't come in overnight."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a car stolen from outside a property on Gordon Avenue in Glasgow overnight between Wednesday, 26 January and Thursday, 27 January.
“The vehicle was recovered nearby a short time later after it struck a lamppost on Gartocher Road around 8.30am and was abandoned.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 0557 of January 27.”
