Glasgow singer Michelle McManus has revealed she gave birth to a new baby boy last month.

The former Pop Idol star shared the news on Twitter and thanked him "for completing our family and our world."

The 41-year-old also revealed his name as Nicholas Peter Nimmo, chosen by herself and her husband Jeff Nimmo.

In the tweet, the singer waved goodbye to January, adding: "I don't know how any other month this year could possibly top you as you're the month we welcomed the newest addition to our family."

McManus said: "You are so perfect in every way and we're just so madly in love with you."

The announcement of Nicholas's birth marks the couple's second child together.

It follows the birth of their other son, Harry Nimmon, back in January 2020.

The singer rose to fame back in 2004 on Pop Idol with hit single All This Time followed by her only album The Meaning of Love.

The Pop Idol star recently returned to the music industry as a singer in the band The Flaming Blackhearts.
