A Glasgow bar has been named as one of the 50 best cocktail spots in the UK.

The Absent Ear in Merchant City was placed at number 26 on the list curated by Top 50 and was the only Glasgow bar to receive a mention.

The results, which were decided by a public vote and panel of expert mixologists, were announced at a ceremony in London last night Tuesday, February 1.

Speaking of their achievement, Absent Ear posted to social media saying: "Unbelievably excited to have gotten number 26 in the top 50 cocktail bars.

"Thanks so much to @50cocktailbars and everyone who decided on this award.

"Beyond words proud of our team and our community."

Since opening in 2020 the speakeasy-style bar has become a firm favourite with Glasgow's cocktail connoisseurs thanks to their inventive creations made with top-quality spirits.

Taking inspiration from Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh, the Absent Ear has an undeniably quirky vibe which often sees their basement space fully booked.

We're not surprised to hear that they have earned a top spot and wish the team a huge congratulations.
