A young businessman is aiming to bring independent traders back to the high street this month with a new artisan makers market.
Local entrepreneur Jordan Trainer decided to launch the Partick Pop Up Artisan Market in the former Poundland shop on Dumbarton Road after feeling disheartened by the number of empty retail units on the street.

He said: “It seems like all you hear on the news these days is stories about shops closing.
"I've really started to notice how many places on Dumbarton Road, and all over Glasgow, have shut down recently.
"It's sad to see but I think the pop-up markets will be a great way to put the spaces to use."

At just 22 years old Jordan already has ample experience in small scale retail and owns the Green Living Glasgow plant shop that neighbours the soon to be market space.
He said: "I have my plant shop next door so I know the area and footfall very well.
"I also know how difficult it can be as a small business looking for a place to be able to sell your crafts.
"We're going to have a really good mix of crafts, local produce, food and drink and fashion."
The new market will be a haven for independent craft makers with over 30 partners already confirmed.
Jordan says he hopes that returning to old-fashioned retail practices will help the Partick community spirit flourish.
He said: "I opened Green Living plant shop during lockdown in 2020 and I've seen so many places come and go.
"I'm really excited at the idea of getting more people into Partick.
"These markets will be a great way for people to actually meet and speak with the local traders that they're buying from.
"It's really nice to see at least one empty space filled again."
The first Partick Pop Up Artisan Market will take place over three days from February 25 to 27 at 412 Dumbarton Road.
Open from 11 am to 5 pm, confirmed traders from in and around Glasgow include Brave Bakes, Ellis Gin, Haelsa Handmade soaps and Simba's Sweets.
