SPT has warned it could lose up to £3 million a year if young people move to use the bus instead of the Subway.
The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport said that they fear young people will turn to bus journeys instead of using the Subway as the free transport for under 22s scheme gets underway.
Two million journeys are made on the underground every year by those under-22.

Currently, only bus transport is free for under-22s however new transport minister, Jenny Gilruth said in the Scottish Parliament yesterday said she is open to meeting with SPT to discuss further.
Chair of SPT, Martin Bartos, has called for a rethink over the initiative. He said: "I am happy to provide the minister with the briefing information which has gone to her predecessor – the need to treat public transport in an integrated way is critical and I look forward to hearing from her about her view on whether U22 funding will be provided to extend free U22 travel to the Subway and trams.”

The SPT has called for a "fully-integrated" approach to the scheme, which includes the Glasgow Subway and Edinburgh's trams.
