An incident in the West End of Glasgow sparked a multi-emergency response on Monday morning, as cops arrested one man. 

Officers were called to Archerhill Road at 4am this morning, after reports of "concern for a person".

Social media reports told of an ambulance and fire engine also on the scene.

One resident wrote: "I woke up to armed response, fire engines, fire cars, ambulance, etc, all right outside my house."

 

Another resident claimed they received a message from the local nursery school advising that the road had been closed by officers.

Police Scotland confirmed they attended the incident around 4am on February 9 and that a man had been arrested.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also confirmed two fire engines were in attendance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a concern for person around 4am on Wednesday, 9 February, at a property in Archerhill Road, Glasgow.

"Officers attended and a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. There was no threat to the wider public.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.23am on Wednesday, February 9 to reports of an incident in Archerhill Road, Glasgow. 

“Operations control mobilised 2 fire engines to the location and firefighters remained on stand by until emergency partners resolved the incident and the area was made safe.”
