A MANHUNT has been launched after a man was attacked with a weapon and taken to hospital.
The 25-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment after being left with a 'serious' injury to his face.
The incident happened sometime between 2am and 3am on Saturday February 12, near to the Kirklandeuk playing fields in Renfrew.
The type of weapon used is not known.
Cops are now on the hunt for a man around 5ft 10in in height, of slim to medium build and speaking with a local accent.
He was wearing a blue puffer jacket with the hood up, dark grey or black jeans and black trainers.
Detective Constable James Campbell said: “This incident saw a man sustain a serious facial injury.
“I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage to contact us.”
