A SUSPECT has gone on trial charged with shooting a man to death.
Jordan Owens allegedly killed Jamie Lee, 23, at an area of land near to Ballantay Terrace in Glasgow's Castlemilk on July 8 2017.
Prosecutors claim the 27 year-old did "discharge a firearm" and that Jamie was struck on the body with a "projectile".
He is said to have been left so severely injured that he died the next day in Glasgow's Southern General hospital.
Owens - also known as Owen - faces two separate charges of attempting to murder Joseph Lee and Jordan Loughery at the same place by also shooting at them that day.
Owens - represented by defence QC Brian McConnachie - denies the accusations at the High Court in Glasgow.
Jurors were read the charges he faces as well certain evidence prosecutors intend to lead.
This included Owens said to have been arrested in Lisbon in Portugal in December 2019 - more than two years after the alleged murder.
Lord Beckett told the jury the trial could last around eight days.
The case continues.
