POLICE are searching a Cumbernauld woodland as the hunt continues for missing woman Karen Stevenson.
Concerned locals reported seeing a large police search underway in Seafar Wood near Braeface Road on social media.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed this is part of the search for Karen Stevenson.
Karen has now been missing for a week after she left her home in Lairds Hill after midnight on Saturday, February 19 and walked towards the town centre.
The 42-year-old was seen in a lift at the shopping centre around 2.44am before walking towards Muirfield Community Centre near Brown Road and Fleming Road.
She was there around 2.55am.

The search in Seafar Wood comes after officers in Cumbernauld stopped 53 cars and 20 pedestrians on Fleming Road between 1am and 4am on Saturday, February 26 in an effort to jog people's memories.
Anyone who has seen Karen or has any information is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference number 3369 of Saturday, February 19.
