A GLASGOW housing association is looking for new board members to improve conditions for local residents and businesses.
The Queens Cross Group is looking for new members across four of their organisations who are passionate about the people of North Glasgow and want to make a difference in their lives.
New board members are required for Queens Cross Housing Association, which owns and manages 4500 rented homes; Queens Cross Workspace, which manages 100 workplaces; Queens Cross Factoring which looks after 2500 privately owned properties; and the Queens Cross Community Foundation, which offers small grants.
Queens Cross Group chief executive, Shona Stephen said: "We are looking for people who have excellent local knowledge and experience as well as those with specific skill sets. Fundamentally however, we are interested in anyone who has a passion for improving the lives of people who live in north Glasgow.
"This is a chance to have a real say in the direction the Group takes in the future and to have real influence on what shape the area takes over the next few years.
"Together the Group is much bigger than the sum of its parts, able to leverage in expertise and investment to deliver real area-wide regeneration outcomes."
Boards will meet once a month or every two months, and responsibilities include providing affordable, high quality homes, supporting the local economy, creating jobs, and delivering effective property management to homes and neighbourhoods.
Shona added: "We have exciting and ambitious plans to deliver as a Group with a wide range of opportunities for Board members to make a difference.
"As well as a way of getting involved in improving the local area, it is also an excellent way of widening your skill set, meeting new people and building networks for your own career progression.
"This a great opportunity for anyone who wants the Queens Cross area to grow into one of the best places to live and work in the city."
